Questions
Buying a shed or barn near Weston
Answers about local rules summarize published city and county information and aren't legal advice.
How big can a building be inside Weston?
In residential districts, accessory buildings are limited to 200 sq ft and one story, detached garages to 500 sq ft, and accessory dwellings to 600 sq ft. Many buyers place larger barns on land outside town limits.
How far is Weston from your lot?
About 38 road miles from our Corinth sales lot, roughly an hour by car. We include delivery details with your quote.
Which ZIP codes and communities around Weston do you deliver to?
We deliver to all Weston ZIP codes (75097 and 75009), and nearby communities including Chambersville, Rhea Mills, Marilee, Celina, and Anna. Not sure about your address? Enter your ZIP code in Find a lot at the top of the page.
How do I get a price?
Design your building online to see the price, or call 214-551-7817 with the building type, size, and your delivery address.
Should I choose a lofted barn or a storage shed?
A lofted barn adds overhead loft storage for seasonal or bulky items. A storage shed keeps everything at floor level, which suits things you use every week. Compare both in the designer before you choose.
Can I see buildings in person before I buy?
Yes. You can see buildings at our Corinth sales lot and our Corsicana yard. Call 214-551-7817 before you visit to check what is there.

Shed permit rules around Weston
Published city and county rules for the Weston area, with links to each office.
Inside Weston, any structure needs a construction permit and residential accessory buildings are capped at 200 sq ft. Outside town limits, Collin County requires a development permit.
Not sure which rules apply to your address? Call us and we will point you to the right office.
Rules last checked September 2026. This is a summary of published city and county rules for general information, not legal advice. Rules change, and HOA rules or deed restrictions can add more. Confirm with the city or county before you buy.
County and city requirements for the Weston area
Outside city limits, including the ETJ: Collin County has no zoning in unincorporated areas, but it requires a Development Permit for projects that add footprint to a parcel, and it names barns and storage buildings as examples. Apply through the county's Citizen Self-Service Portal. Properties in a city's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) still permit through the county, and new construction there also needs an ETJ Verification form signed by that city. The county notes that review can take up to 30 days, so apply before you schedule delivery.
A few county rules worth knowing: structures can't be built in drainage easements, residential structures aren't allowed in the floodplain, and addresses are only assigned through permitting. If the building will connect to septic, the on-site sewage facility (OSSF) review runs through the same development permit. Collin County Development Services is at (972) 548-5585.
Inside Weston town limits: a construction permit is required to erect or move any structure. In residential, multifamily, and mobile home districts, accessory buildings are limited to 200 square feet (detached garages 500, accessory dwellings 600) and one story. They go in the rear yard, at least 3 feet from side lines when 10 feet from the house (15 feet next to a side street) and at least 3 feet from the rear line (10 feet if there is no alley), and never in a recorded easement.
