Rent-to-Own vs. Buying a Shed Outright: How Each Works

There are two ways to pay for a shed, barn, or cabin from us: pay for it outright, or rent-to-own with monthly payments. Both get you the same building, in the same size, colors, and options. Here’s how each works so you can decide what fits your situation.

Buying outright

You pay for the building, and it’s yours from delivery day. You’ll see the price for the size, style, and options you choose in our online designer.

Rent-to-own

Rent-to-own lets you start using the building now and pay over time:

No credit check to qualify.
A low deposit to start.
Monthly payments over 36, 48, 60, or 72 months.
The same building: same sizes, colors, doors, windows, and add-ons as buying outright.

Questions to ask before you sign

Rent-to-own terms come from the program provider and are confirmed in writing before you sign. Read the agreement and ask about anything that isn’t clear, for example:

What is the total of all payments over the term you choose?
Is there an option to pay it off early?
What happens if you need to stop making payments?
Who handles repairs during the term?

If anything in the agreement isn’t clear, ask us before you sign.

Which one fits?

Buying outright can make sense if you have the full amount ready and want the building paid for from day one.
Rent-to-own can make sense if you need the building now, want to keep cash on hand, or would rather not have a credit check.

Only you can decide what’s right for your budget, so compare the totals and terms side by side.
